"Dust"
Gouache Paint on Watercolor Paper 36"x48"
At Burning Man one year, there was a crazy dust storm and this random group of people wandered into our camp. This girl came in, topless, wearing only her underwear, goggles and a face mask. She started trying on my bullet belt, she looked so 'Mad Max'. I thought it would make a surreal painting with her in the foreground with the parachute behind her (someone from our camp brought it to use as a tent, that didn't work out so well).
I didn't know what I would call this piece until, as I was painting, I started wondering if I would even be able to share this piece on social media because of her being topless.
So many thoughts came into my head from wondering that, that I wrote them all down and they have become a written part of this piece.
"Dust"
Why are there still many instances where women are not treated as equals?
Is it because men are physically stronger than women?
Perhaps that's true, but our bodies weren't designed for sheer strength, our bodies were designed for endurance, for sustaining and giving life. Isn't that strength that equals a man's?
Why are women taught to be ashamed of their bodies, that they are something that must be covered up? Were we not born this way? And if we don't agree, we are judged and thought of as being a certain way.
For those of you who are discarding female infants as inferior, for those of you who treat women as objects for your pleasure and for those of you who do not consider women as your equals:
If you continue on your path, you will find out the hard way that without women, the entire human race will crumble into dust.

We are all so unique and so beautiful!
By adding paintings of people who are smiling and laughing to our walls we are creating a positive environment.
When we admire them they can inspire our own moments of happiness, they can remind us of what a gift our lives are and they can empower us to find our own inner strength to make our lives the lives that we want them to be.
That is the power and beauty of art!
If you would like to commission a personalized piece of art, whether it's of an existing photo that you have or if it's a moment that you would like to create please contact us.
Everyday is meant to be lived to the fullest, life is a precious gift.
Freedom from fear is the path to happiness.
Often times, people live in a constant state of fear. It controls them. They can not be free if fear is their chains.
Confronting our fears and moving beyond them will allow us to live in the moment, to experience new and amazing moments and to be happy.
My mission as an artist is to help people overcome their fears so that they can live in happiness.
I would love to hear your stories, talk about your experiences and together we can personalize a painting uniquely for you that will help you remember your inner strength, remind you of how amazing you are and empower you to live the life that you always wanted to live.
